Description

The project started as a EU collaboration project that sought to develop a training universe for 5G cyber security. As part of this I/we was asked to create a simulation-based game teaching players about cyber security strategies. The game is a a-symetrical 1v1 multiplayer game that focuses on providing a practical training of cyber security strategy and management. It can be played by newcomers to cyber security who is supported by an extensive Wiki, technical personel wanting to exlore tactics and management as well as training for existing managers.

What I did

Game Design

  • Researched and learned about cyber security.

  • System-based a-symmetrical design.

  • Created an extensive database of actions and outcome relationships.

  • Designed network-assets behaviors.

  • Designed and owned all features.

  • Directed the rest of the team on designs.

  • Conducted design/feature workshops with the team

  • Gave feedback on gameplay and graphics.

  • Wrote and managed the design document.

  • Setting up network/level in our custom level designer.

  • Setting up actions, skills, categories, and costs in Unity

  • Leading prioritization of tasks.

  • Showcased the product to the EU consortium.

 

Code

  • Integrated Unity's player feedback/bug reporting system.

  • Created prototype of the sound system.

  • Implemented audio. 

  • Custom load screen.

  • Main menu.

  • Tweaked and optimized existing code.

Project management

  • Owned the backlog and product.

  • Created, managed, and updated tasks.

  • Assisted in identifying target customers

QA

  • Tested and reported bugs to the respective teams.

  • Did first pass on dialogue check to find written errors.
